Our world is a scary place right now.

Headlines are dominated by the plight of the Rohingya in Myanmar, the continuing disaster in Syria and the prospect of all-out war on the Korean peninsula.

You’d think that the United Nations would focus on these pressing issues but instead it chooses to unjustly bash Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East.

While Palestinian women were being murdered and subjugated for the sake of male honour, while Sudanese women were forced to give birth with their legs shackled for the crime of being Christian and while women and girls in Iran faced pervasive violence and discrimination; the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women condemned Israel for violating the rights of women!

Worse still, the UN seeks to rewrite history, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) supported a resolution, submitted by the Palestinians, that ignored Judaism’s ties to the religion’s holiest site, the Western Wall.

It’s clear that the UN is being used by rogue states and other actors to corrupt the goals that it was set up to achieve.

Our country must play its part in making the United Nations honest again and reminding it of its noble objectives.

Now you can join this important campaign with just a few clicks of a button. SFI are delighted to join the IBA campaign in highlighting the gross misconducts against Israel at the UN. Simply take a few moments to visit the attached link and follow the simple sign up steps. A letter will be automatically sent to the Foreign Secretary and copied to your local MP. A full version of the letter is posted below.

We urge you to join this campaign and to ask members of your household also join the campaign against the gross misconduct by the UN against the Jewish state.

Poposed Text:

Last December the Prime Minister reaffirmed the British Government’s pride in the Balfour Declaration and the role our country played in the rebirth of the State of Israel.

However, 100 years on from Arthur J. Balfour’s statement and 69 years on from David Ben Gurion’s declaration of independence, Israel still faces attacks from rogue states, terrorist organisations and other actors dedicated to its destruction.

Indeed, President Mahmoud Abbas called on Britain to apologise for the Balfour Declaration and in doing so he revealed an uncomfortable truth: that as one of the leaders of the Palestinian people he believes that the right of the Jewish people to a national home in the land of Israel should have been denied.

The attacks and demonisation of Israel sadly continue and nowhere is this thinly disguised anti-Semitism more self-evident than in the United Nations and its affiliated agencies.

The UN, an organisation that was created with the noble aim of maintaining international peace and security, has been targeted by those that have an agenda diametrically opposed to its founding principles.

The United States Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, has already made clear that the Israel bashing must stop and I am delighted that both you and the Prime Minister have voiced your strong support for Israel.
Some of the resolutions passed by the United Nations in recent years condemning Israel are truly shocking.
Here are some examples.

While Palestinian women were being murdered and subjugated for the sake of male honour, while Sudanese women were forced to give birth with their legs shackled for the crime of being a Christian and while women and girls in Iran faced pervasive violence and discrimination; the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women condemned Israel for violating the rights of women!
In the 2014/15 session the United Nations Human Rights Council whose membership includes Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Venezuela passed 20 resolutions critical of Israel.
Conversely Iran, Syria and North Korea merited just one mention each.

Perhaps the most risible resolution passed was at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).

This organisation decided to rewrite history and support a resolution, submitted by the Palestinians, that ignored Judaism’s ties to the religion’s holiest site, the Western Wall.

I am however pleased that Britain has spoken out about UN bias.

In a statement earlier this year the British Mission said, ‘Israel is a population of eight million in a world of seven billion…yet since its foundation, the Human Rights Council has adopted 135 country-specific resolutions; 68 of which against Israel.’
What the statement did not say is that Britain either voted for or abstained on many of those unfair resolutions and sadly it has therefore contributed to the bias Israel faces.

Moreover, Britain’s actions have at times supported the Palestinian sub-plot to achieve the recognition of a Palestinian state without having to compromise and participate in direct negotiations with Israel.

Britain is a key player at the United Nations.

When Britain speaks other nations listen and follow our lead.

Can you confirm that Britain will challenge and vote against bias against Israel in all UN institutions?
