ANGER: ‘Football fans deserve better’ says spokesman [Paul Fuller]
From The Daily Star:
YOUNG football fans joined a protest slamming World Cup hosts Qatar over sinister links to a terror group.
The Middle East country – hosting the event in 2022 – is accused of funding Islamic extremists Hamas, who are currently in conflict with Israel.
Hundreds of demonstrators called for Qatar to be stripped of the tourney at a rally outside the nation’s London embassy yesterday.
The protest was organised by Sussex Friends of Israel, together with the Israeli Forum Task Force.
Spokesman Simon Cobbs said: “Football fans deserve better.”
Lawyer Mark Lewis, told the rally: “We should not reward terror by awarding the World Cup to Qatar in honour of its role in financing terror.”
